Mercet is the musical project of Sai Boddupalli. Filled with inspiration from film scores, contemporary classical music and 90s IDM, Mercet is meditation music for the dance floor.

Nurturing a solo electronic project after (or while) playing in indie rock bands is most likely a trope. Ben Gibbard had The Postal Service, Olafur Arnalds left his hardcore groups, and so on. That same line of thought is what pulled together Mercet.

After spending the majority of the last decade playing and touring with bands including Animal Flag and Really From (fka People Like You), Sai Boddupalli decided to stop carrying an Ampeg V4 and a guitar cab all over the country and instead focus on crafting sounds from the comfort of his home studio. The resulting project draws from contemporary classical music, film scores, and electronica beats, putting them all together in a digestible package filled with dynamic shifts, mood swings and beautiful, expressive sound.
